An Easter/Spring Wreath and He Has Risen Download

 I hope you all are having a wonderful week. Sorry- I have literally spent all of ten minutes on my computer these past few days so I still haven't finished catching up on e-mails and am way behind on blog reading but I just wanted to do a quick post with the last of my Easter projects this year. I made this wreath using two different tutorials from Jones Design Company.  You can find the first tutorial if you click here and the second one of you click here. I used a cotton fabric instead of burlap because I didn't have enough burlap left from my last project and didn't feel like heading out to get more. I already had all of the supplies except for the wreath form so I was able to do this whole wreath for just $3.50! I really like how it looks in real life, but it was hard to photograph for some reason.  (For a tutorial on the moss letters click here).

















 


 And here is the "He Is Risen" print. I had hoped to play around with it some more because it is a little more modern/graphic looking than I normally like it has been a bit hectic here the last few days so I am just going to go ahead and put it up like this. I still haven't been able to figure out how to upload PDF files so these are just really large JPG's and hopefully will print out okay, although they may be a little blurry - sorry! Once I figure out how to do PDF's I will start uploading prints that way.

Valentine's Shirts (Opinions Wanted) and Je T'aime Templates

I have spent the last few days working on catching up on e-mails and convos (I feel like I have barely made a dent though - ahhh!), recovering our ottoman (will show pictures of that later this week...hopefully, anyway - I still have to do a little trim work), getting started on making some pillows to list in the shop, and a handful of other projects. I also have been working on a few Valentine's Day designs to print on shirts and have it narrowed down to a few. I plan on printing at least one design (maybe two) on both onesies and long sleeve shirts for girls and am still contemplating whether or not I will print a run a women's shirts or not.  Am leaning towards just going with the kid's shirts though.


This would be printed on a light pink long sleeve shirt. It is similar to our popular fairyland print but has Elizabeth Barrett Browning's Sonnett 43 ("How Do I Love Thee?") in the background.





Or this one which would be printed on a white shirt and is similar to the image above but a little bit simpler.


Or one of those same designs but in on more classic red long sleeve:






Or should I go with just a really simple white shirt with red script? These would have a thick chiffon ribbon on them up in the area above the "ime" part of T'aime.

  


I am not sure whether I would go with the one above or a more simple computerized "handwriting" font below.
 
Any thoughts? Which of those would you be more apt to purchase?


 Also, I didn't have time to make a template when I did the giveaway post but here is one now. And last, we have a couple new sale items. We have three Tanis Houndstooth Skirts left that are on sale (one 18months, one 2T and one 3T). Here is a picture of Lillie wearing one early last fall. She was wearing it yesterday and I wish I had of snapped a picture. She had it over a cute pair of leggings she got for Christmas and a cardigan and looked so snuggly!



And we have three of our Christmas thermals left (one size 2, one size 4 and one size 12). They are on sale for $12.95 (and come with an optional red ribbon for girls or without for boys). They are regularly $24.95. Here is an adorable little boy wearing it. His mom, who is a wonderful photographer, sent us these photos. He is such a doll!

A BIG DEAR LILLIE GIVEAWAY and Some Downloadable Gift Tags!

Whew! What a week! I am so glad it is over and am so excited about this week!!!! Today Lillie and I head off to Chapel Hill where we are hoping to meet up with some childhood friends for dinner and then off to my aunt and uncle's house where we will spend the night and the day tomorrow before heading over to UNC for the William and Mary vs. Carolina game. Jon and I both went to college there and Jon played basketball there so it will be a little weird rooting against the Tarheels but I think we will manage. We are so excited to bring Lillie to the Smith Center for the first time and show her around and let her see her Daddy's old locker and stuff. The game is on ESPNU at 7PM Eastern Time (Tuesday night) for any of you that are basketball fans that get ESPNU. If Lillie makes it on TV again this year I hope she will be clapping or cheering and not be busy sulking because I have cut off her supply of M&M's and soda for the night! Then after the game we head back here to crawl in bed for a few hours before heading up to NH! And then yay - our Christmas begins! I am so excited! 


Now, onto some decorating (and then after that the giveaway!) I finally got all of our presents wrapped early Sunday morning and then when Lillie went down for her nap after church I started working on tagging them all. I had ordered some really adorable tags from a great little Etsy shop about a month ago but they never arrived. I contacted the seller and she resent them but they still haven't gotten here so I was left scrambling. Once I put Lillie down I was kicking myself because I realized that I was out of almost all of my ribbon and out of most of my colored cardstock! Argggh! And of course because she was napping I couldn't head out to pick anything more up and Jon wasn't going to be home from practice for several more hours. So, I ended up just using what I had which certainly saved a lot of money, however, they didn't end up how I had envisioned them in my head. =(  Normally, I like to use little ornaments or other things to decorate my gifts with but this year because we were going to be shipping almost all of our gifts for our families I just did things REALLY simple. And because I only had an hour  I just used designs I had already done this year (instead of some new ones I had in my head) and printed them out four to a page on some ivory cardstock and then cut them into circles or rectangles and then cut slightly larger circles and rectangles and used double stick tape to stick them together. Then I just punched a tiny hole in the top and that was it! It took just over an hour to do about 30 or so of them so it was a really quick and easy project and the best part - it was FREE! They are definitely NOT my favorite wrapping jobs ever but at least they are done now and all on their way!



Here are just few of them!  I took pictures of the first handful that I finished and then Lillie woke up and helped me with the rest of them. 

















Once I ran out of all of my ivory scrap ribbon I had to pull out some of this cheetah print - yikes! Haha - I like it for some other things but it was not exactly the look I was going for as far as wrapping Christmas gifts went, but it was all I had left! Time to stock back up on some ribbon!!!!



I printed mine straight from Illustrator but I still haven't figured out how to upload PDF Files so I had to save these as JPG's to upload into blogger. I saved them quite large though so they shouldn't be too blurry. Just click on any of the images and they will open larger in another window. I would recommend saving them and then printing them from Preview or whatever program you have that will open JPG's. I just tried doing it that way and they actually printed pretty crisply. 















To save on packing and avoiding having to bring things up to NH and then back again, we did our Christmas with Lillie last night. She was so excited to open Curious George and some toys and books but still not so keen on opening clothes! After she opened the first box that had clothes in it and said "no thank you" she looked so dejected I warned her when she got to the other box that had clothes in it. I figured that way she wouldn't be too disappointed when she opened it if she already knew ahead of time it was going to be clothes. Instead, she handed it to me and said "You open, Mommy. I cry." Jon and I laughed so hard!

Silent Night, Holy Night Templates and Christmas Thermals Are In!

Ahhh - where does time go? This time of year is so crazy, isn't it? With Thanskgiving, Christmas, Lillie's Birthday, a busy time for Dear Lillie and basketball season under way I feel like every day is just flying by and even though I feel like I get about ten things crossed off my list I add another twenty - ahhh! I do LOVE this time of year though. This is going to be super quick because I need to finish up some sewing and then as soon as Lillie wakes up from her nap off we go to another game. Fortunately, this one is only a little over an hour away (the last one was two hours away and we hit awful traffic on the way there so it took forever!). I forgot my camera on Friday but am going to try to remember to bring it today.

Anyway, we got a bunch of e-mails of e-mails wondering about a template for the Silent Night pillows. I would just have taken the pillow forms out and scanned in the ones I did but they were too large to fit on my scanner. I thought it would be easy to just redo them....haha! That was not the case. It is very hard trying to recopy something you did really quickly. I see now why it is so hard to forge a signature. I was trying to go slowly but the slower I went the more wobbly it looked. Oh well, here is the best I could do. It isn't great but at least it is something to work off of for those of you who asked. If I had of thought the project through a little more and not been in such a hurry when I made the pillows, I probably wouldn't have just freehanded it and would probably have found a font I liked like Chopin Script and tried to copy that. I attached some pictures of that below too for any of you who would rather copy something a little neater looking than my wobbly attempt at redrawing the original ones. Anyway, here they are (just click on the templates and they should open larger in another window for you to save and print - let me know if they don't):

They can be ordered with or without the ribbon so they can be worn by both boys and girls!
They are available on long sleeve black onesies in sizes 3/6 months, 6/12 months, and 12/18 months and on long sleeve black thermals in sizes 2 - 12.
I have VERY LIMITED quanitites of some of the sizes (in fact I think I only have one in each size onesie)!








On another note, I have finally decided the theme for Lillie's birthday party! I am combining her two favorite things: The Twelve Dancing Princesses and Chocolate! I was in the car the other day as Lillie and I were running errands and I was trying to decide between some of the themes you all had suggested. I was leaning towards a Nutcracker theme focusing on the Sugar Plum Fairy but was unsure about it because I felt like Lillie wouldn't really even know what it was and thinking I should wait until she was a bit older and then it hit me as I was listening to her very annoying Barbie movie in the background. She ADORES the Twelve Dancing Princesses! She pretty much watches that movie every time we are in the car for any length of time (I know - I vowed I would NEVER let my kids watch movies in the car - they would only read books or play games! Somehow that went out the window - arghhh!) She also has the book and we read it over and over and over in the house. Her favorite character is actually "Papa" which is kind of funny. Ever time he is on the screen or on the page she goes crazy and demands that I look and see! So, as soon as it hit me I felt stupid for not thinking of it before. So, a Twelve Dancing Princesses Party is shall be.


Because her whole birthday last year was pink I decided to avoid using any pink so it wouldn't seem the same. Instead, because she loves chocolate even more than I do (which is saying an AWFUL lot) I am going to do everything in chocolates, creams and whites. Jon took her for a couple of hours on Saturday evening and I drew a bunch of dancing princess silhouettes which I am going to print in chocolate brown and make a banner from and some little cupcake toppers with.  And then I spent her nap yesterday sewing 16 pairs of tiny ballet slippers. They are inspired by one of my favorite pairs of Joyfolie shoes (although the ones I am making are a mess and would make Jessica cringe and are purely decorative and could never possibly be worn  - haha! By the way you should check out the preview of the some of the Holiday Items about to debut at Joyfolie.)  Anyway, the little decorative slippers are about half-way done and once they are finished I will post some pictures. I have a bunch of Dear Lillie work to do these next few days though so I am not sure when I will get back to them. I plan on having two bare trees covered in little white lights and hanging 12 of the shoes from them and the other 4 will use to pair together and hang somewhere. Anyway, now that I have decided what I am going to do I am quite excited about it. Now, if I could just figure out how to add more hours to the day!
