First - I think this is my new favorite kitchen! (Okay, I have a lot of favorite kitchens but this is my most recent find. I saw it online somewhere a few weeks ago and now can't remember where I found it. If anyone knows where it is from, let me know and I will add the link!)

Anyway, I know I mentioned last week some that I would be posting about some changes and some things going on with Dear Lillie in the coming months as well as our first ever contest. I will share the contest with you all either tomorrow or Saturday but for now want to give you all an update.
When we first started Dear Lillie we assumed that no one would really buy anything and best-case scenario we would sell one item a week. Little did we know what was ahead of us! Haha! We have been capable of keeping up with our Etsy orders but we started taking wholesale orders in the fall and quickly became overwhelmed. We started turning down orders on a daily basis and somehow I still stay up working until 3 or 4 AM about 6 nights a week and then the other night tend to go to bed around 2 AM. With an 18 month old who wakes up full of energy just a few hours later it has been a very exhausting cycle. I am a mom while she is awake and then the second she goes down for her nap or to bed at night I immediately have to start working. It has been somewhat comforting getting to know other women out there who are going through the same thing such as Jessica at Joyfolie and Amy at Evy's Tree just to name a couple, so I at least I know I am not the only crazy person out there! I have truly loved every minute of it but know that we need to make some changes or I am going to die of exhaustion!
What we are going to do it stop selling items for the month of July. During this time we are going to revamp the look of our blog and finally get to work on some new designs for babies, girls and women (and maybe even some maternity styles) and hopefully even a few options for boys and men. We have had to put so many of them on the back-burner because we haven't had time to finish them. We hope to have several new dress options, as well as a few cardigans and several new shirt styles. We also plan on relaunching our screenprinted tees and tanks with a bunch of new designs. We have a professional photo shoot scheduled during this time with Pizzuti Studios which we are really excited about. We are also hoping to hire a seamstress which would allow us to have more options for our dresses and a couple of employees to help with the day to day production. Now, whether or not we will be able to get all of this done by August, I don't know. But hopefully we will be able to get started on all of these changes and have most of the in place before the holiday rush. This definitely might be wishful thinking, though.
During this time we will still be blogging and will keep you posted on all of the changes as they happen and will give sneak peeks to our new items as we get them finished! We will still be hosting give-aways during this time, as well. The plan will be to re-open our shop full of new items as well as our current best-sellers on Monday, August 16th.
Our shop is open right now but we will be putting it in "vacation mode" for part of next week from June 7th - June 12th as we will be out of town attending a wedding. We will then reopen on the 13th and will be open through the end of June before shutting down for 6 weeks, so if there is anything you have been eyeing be sure to purchase it in the next few weeks.
Okay, that is it for now. I need to get sewing. I have another LONG night ahead of me! If I have time tomorrow I will post about our first ever contest!
